Hello. How is your Saturday evening panning out? I'm happy to report that mine was fantastically simple, yet extremely satisfying! But I'll get to that later, because in order to do my Week in the Life posts I have to start from the beginning!
Luis and I recently started watching Man Vs. Wild.... I know. I can hear the crickets and silence from here. But before you cast your judgements my way, check out an episode. Maybe it's the longings I have to travel and experience the world, or maybe I'm a closet daredevil (doubt it), it's really an infectious show. And of course, Kiki always has to come check out what we're up to. We like to snuggle with her often.
Over the past few months, I've gained a serious, and possibly lifelong, liking for all things vintage. Ever since I began blogging, I've found my personal style changing. Anyway, my gracious mother-in-law gave me some of her vintage cutlery and cloth napkins to use as props in some of my food photography.
There isn't much I feel I need, just a good cup of tea made with fresh tea leaves.
I got another letter from my dear friend, Molly. She and I briefly went to college together but have since been separated. We are both "old-souls" and prefer to exchange letters. I love it :D
As you may have read, we went over to Luis' parent's for a Fourth of July cookout on Wednesday. You can read more about that here.
Like I've mentioned before, I'm doing a ton of reading, mainly for my senior thesis that I start working on in the Fall. I'm doing Pride and Prejudice, a novel I've probably read close to ten times, seen just about every movie made a million times, and talk about it often. But my purpose in reading it this time is very different and I'm loving all of the new discoveries I've made this time around.
Cilantro lime chicken that I made for dinner the other night.
Had a great time making some incredibly tasty cupcakes! You can read more and find the recipe here.
My kitty, basking in the sunlight shining in through our window. What a sweetie.
Nice week! If I was marooned on a desert island I would want two things, Bear Grylls and a copy of P&P. Bear could keep me alive and if we got bored we could act out the story.
ReplyDeleteHahah, awesome. Yup, that sounds like an ideal situation to me!
